UPDATE ON THE WINTER CLASSIC

As I wrote earlier, Sunday Gemmi went BOB, and advanced to the Group Competition, she did not take the group but was pulled out by Ms McGowen, a sign that she liked her and hoped to see her again.
Rupert's American Bred Class was comprised by 4 dogs and I will list them in the order that they finished: Ravenscar's Guess It's Fate, Triadel Thorium (Rupert), Marienburg's Aces R Wild, and Marienburg's New Beginning.  Ravenscar's won the class but not WD, that belonged to MITI's Third Degree, and quite by chance, I found out that Rupert won over Ravenscar, who placed third, at the Rubber City KC show.  It is nice to see the competition between two good dogs, and how it is a toss of the dice as to who wins THAT DAY!
Helie was in a class of five bitches, won her Class, WB out of 7 bitches, and BOW for 5 points.

CALL ME CH TRIADEL'S HELIUM!

Above are Helium's official pictures.

Helie took the "INDY WINTER CLASSIC" by storm earning TWO MAJORS, a 3 point Friday under Dr Wanda V Spediacci; and a 5 point Sunday under Mrs Jean Fournier.  Congratulations again to Helie, Shirley and Colleen, we are very, very happy for you.

Gemmi, Colleen's bitch, took BOB today and last I heard she was waiting for the GROUP competition.  Congratulations Gemmi, we are pulling for you to win the group, and BIS.

The weekend definitely belonged to Helie, the boys Argon and Rupert, did not do anything, quite a disappointment for us.
To lift myself from the disappointment pit, I took inventory of Rupert's Show Career.
Since Last October he has partecipated in five Weekends of Shows plus one Last May, mostly were two day shows, one four days, this last one three days.  Here is the math:

7 - FIRST PLACE WINS
5 - SECOND PLACE WINS
1 - THIRD PLACE WIN
5 - WINNER DOG WINS
1- RESERVE WINNERS WIN
3 - BEST OF WINNER WINS
1 - BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX
TOTAL POINTS EARNED - 7

OK I feel "slightly" better, considering his record we cannot feel too badly for our little boy! I also know that every show helps him to gain experience, and we can always hope for better luck next time...so I keep telling myself!!!

HOOSIER KENNEL CLUB

February 12, 2010

Second day of the "Indy Winter Classic", the results are in, and both Rupert and Argon did not advance, they took second place in a larger than usual class, and that that makes a bit easier to swallow.
The glory today belongs to Helie who topped her FIRST MAJOR from last week with a SECOND MAJOR!  What can I say...the girl is Hot!  Congratulations to Shirley her breeder, and Colleen her handler.  Tomorrow is another day, another show...let's keep our fingers crossed!

Here is a picture of Helie going BOW at the Doswell, VA Show.

RUBBER CITY KC. TALLMAGE, OHIO

Wednesday, February 10

Here are the results of the Tallmage, Ohio Show that Rupert entered on January 9 and 10.   As I previously mentioned we were quite apprehensive about this show,  well, fortunately he showed well, and under Colleen's expert handling he picked up one point under Mr. Eugene W Haupt...

...and one under Mr Tom Hale.

As I post, Rupert, Helie and Argon are back on the road with Colleen and Shirley, well actually they have not left yet, they are waiting for the roads to be safe since there is a major snowstorm reeking havoc in our whole area.  They will be attending the INDY WINTER CLASSIC, in Indiana.  It's four days of Majors, they will miss Thursday because of the snow, but we hope that they will pick up something.

In the meantime I have some wonderful news, TOMMY is NUMBER 10 in the Doberman Pinscher Club of America Standings.  Here she is Winning BOB at the Nationals.  She is an exceptionally gorgeous bitch, and is no wonder that she produced a litter of seven wonderful looking puppies, five of which are doing so well in the ring, all pointed, some with Majors!

Good news about Colleen's bitch Gemmi (CH KELVIEW'S GEMINI V. NOVA), she's NUMBER 22 in the DPCA, and she's rising through the ranks so fast that it won't be long before she's well within the top 20!  Colleen tells us that she loves being shown, and as soon as she sees the picture podium she lounges for it, she knows that it is there just for her, because "she's the best, that's all!"
Best wishes to Gemmi, and all Colleen's boys and girls, good luck to all this weekend!

THE WILWOOD "MAJOR" NIGHTMARE!

Monday February 8

This past weekend Quincy, Argon and Helie were entered at the Wildwood Boardwalk show, it was supposed to be four days of Majors, but unfortunately Wildwood became totally paralyzed under two + feet of snow.  Power was out and Donna and Mark, Shirley and Colleen, were mostly stuck in the hotel with no heat, slim pickings for food because all the  restaurant were closed, and could not even get to their cars or get out of town.  A nightmare that they will remember for a long time!  Fortunately they had shown Friday, before the big Nor' Easter, and what a grace that was because it was downhill after that! Friday Quincy took Second Place, Argon Reserve, and Helie went BOW for a Major...Congratulations Helie..go girl!
Saturday they did not show and Sunday Ms. Helene Nietsch gave Quincy a First Place in the American Bred Class.

QUINCY'S WIN IN GETTYSBURG

THE OHIO SHOWS

Friday January 8, 2010.
Rupert is in Tallmage, Ohio and will be shown on Saturday and Sunday. I do not have my hopes up as he has a bad case of "puppy acne" in his chin, and "puppy alopecia" in his muzzle, so he is not looking his best. Hopefully the judges will look beyond these temporary flaws, and judge the dog.
Colleen tells me that he is having a great time with Gemini, her bitch, and I'm not surprised because he is a very social dog, and looooves the little girls! We took him to Colleen's Wednesday, and as soon as we entered the house, he went straight into the dog quarters without looking back, one whiff of females.. ..and he's gone!
I know that no matter what happens he will have a great time in Ohio, but I must admit that we miss him and hope the time will fly.....

THE BIG EXCITING CLEVELAND SHOW...THAT NEVER WAS (BIG OR EXCITING)

Rupert has just returned from a four days show in Cleveland, we joined him, Colleen, and Shirley for the the last three days.
We had high expectations, since it was supposed to be a BIG show with lots of vendors and dogs. Well, the vendors were there, but the dobermans weren't. No dogs, and judging that left exhibitors shaking their heads in disbelief, made it disappoining . For our part, we looked on the bright side: Rupert had four days of very good training, improving everyday and establishing a relationship and routine with Colleen that will help him in the January shows. He also came away with a Reserve Winners, and Winner Dog for one point. All and all, I don't think it is too bad for our little boy who basically started his career this past October!
Above is Rupert standing for examination. he's pretty well behaved considering that he is not too crazy about his backside being checked out!

Here is the official picture of Rupert's win at the Winner Dog podium with Judge Robert L. Vandiver.

AND THEN CAME "BACK MOUNTAIN"

WHAT A NICE WEEKEND!

We have just come back from the Bloomburg dog shows and have a permanent grin on our faces, I think it will last a while because Rupert made us so proud!
Saturday 31 October, Back Mountain Kennel Club, this is the American Bred line up, Rupert in the middle with Colleen.
The Judge, Dr.Donald A. Gill examining Rupert.

Colleen stacking him, one more turn around the ring and the First Place Blue ribbon will be his...he will rest for a while and then....

...back in the ring for Winners, Rupert is being handled by a complete stranger (peach jacket) as a favor to Colleen, who in handling a Special. See that little bitch right behind him, #24? She will Take Best of Winners and go on to the Working Group competition.

One more look at Rupert.

Here he is at the "podium" posing for Winner Dog, one blue and one Purple ribbon, 2 points.

Sunday November 1, Back mountain Kennel Club, Am. Bred. lineup.

The Judge, Mrs.Patti Widick Neale checking the boys... Colleen has the red hat.

...Taking his turn around the ring... and pretty soon getting his second win

Picking up the Blue Ribbon from the judge: thank you Mrs. Nealy!

Back in the ring for Best of Winners, again the handler is unknown to him, but he is behaving.

Rupert, and Shirley with Helium, they both won their class, and since Colleen couldn't clone herself, Shirley pitched in.

Getting ready for the judge...

(I stand nicely and they feed me liver, not a bad gig)!
One more run around the ring and the Winners and Best of Opposite sex will be his, and we sat there stunned!
Posing for picture (Boy I could really get to like this!)
The booty!

AFTER SPENDING THE SUMMER IN SARDINIA THE SHOW CAREER STARTS.

When we came back to the States last September, all the Triadels had already started their career in Conformation.  They had been shown in the Spring and Summer and each had a few points towards their Championship.  Rupert's first entry was a two day show on October 2nd and 3rd.

Here is Judge Ms Angela Porpora, and in the ring Quincy with Michelle, and Rupert with Colleen.  Rupert was nervous, but Colleen did a wonderful job calming him and making it fun.

Around the ring....

...standing for the judge...

One last look and Quincy takes the class.

Back in the ring for Colleen, this time With Helie, I believe she also took second place.

Another day, another show, another Judge, Mrs Catherine O Cooper at the Devon Dog Show.  Rupert is more comfortable, and Colleen knows just how to interact with him.

Standing for inspection...

Keeping an eye on the liver...

Quincy and Rupert in the ring again...

Colleen keeping an eye on the judge, she knew that she was looking at Rupert.

Moving for the judge

Once around the ring...

...and this time Rupert takes the class.

Back in the ring for WD, and the judge actually looks at the puppies which is very nice since all of them had had the experience of being ignored in Winners ring.

Back in the ring with bitches, a handler's work is never done...

Heliun all stacked...

This time Helie takes the blue ribbon!
